YOUNG GAMES MAKERS
Hopefully everybody is by now aware that Morpeth ASC’s young volunteers were successful in their selection day in London back in December and the team has been selected to act as Young Games Makers at the swimming events at the Olympics this summer. Read the Morpeth Herald article here.
Welcome to the section that will follow our volunteers through their preparation, fundraising and participation at the 2012 Olympics.
Young Games Makers Start Their Training
Morpeth Amateur Swimming Club’s team of Young Games Makers travelled to London on the weekend of 11th / 12th February for a day of training at the Aquatic Centre in Olympic Park. The training was in preparation for their volunteering role at the Olympic Games in the summer and the Test Event in March. They had a tour of the impressive Aquatic Centre, which brought it home to everybody that Morpeth ASC will be at the Games fulfilling an important role in front of the whole world.
